Thankful on Paper: Week #1

I'm so excited to be joining the Thankful on Paper project hosted by Rachel at No. 17

This week I started by writing to someone very special to me.

I met Krista only a year ago, and yet it seems as if I've known her my entire life. We met at our New Staff Training conference for Campus Crusade where we were placed in the same 'Life Group'. Little did we know that from literally the first group meeting, our hearts would be linked by a common struggle that we had both dealt with nearly our entire lives.

Krista seemed to know exactly what to say, at the moment when I most needed, and I the same to her. It was so evident right away that God had preordained for us to meet and basically be sweet, awesome friends.

One of the things that I am most thankful for in Krista is that she is my 'text pray-er'. If I ever feel I'm about to enter a situation in which I may be tempted to fall back into this pattern of sin that we each struggle with, I know that I can text her and she will be praying for me that very second. And I love interceding for her in this way.

I cannot tell you the victories that I have won in this area of my life this past year since Krista has led me to the cross on a number of occasions. I have seen more growth this year than in any other in my entire life. She has been a blessing to me in so many more ways that she could ever realize and I am truly grateful for her heart, her struggle, her wisdom, her humor, her tattoo, her sweet baller skills, her courage, her transparency, her 24 addiction, and especially her text prayers.

Love you Krista. Can't wait till you get my letter =)

P.S. If you want to check out more letters from this project - and you should - go here =)

Dear friends are such a blessing! Isn't it amazing how God can send someone to say encouraging things when we need it most?

I wrote about one of those types of friends too. I love how you text each other your prayer needs. Love that. What a blessing. :)
