Me, Myself and the Court.

Today I got to go to the gym for the first time in a long time. I ran on the track slash jogged slash bounced a little bit while a walked, did some abs, and then went down to the court to shoot.

Just me. The only sounds are my shoes squeaking, ball bouncing on the hardwood, swishing through the net.

Bliss.

The ultimate stress reliever.

No matter where I am in life, how out of shape I am, whats going on outside those lines, while I have that basketball, I'm serenely myself. I'm a ball player. I'm an athlete.

Whenever life seems like nothing is under my control, whenever chaos is present, there is relief in being in this arena where I have control.

Like riding a bike....square my shoulders, set my feet, elbow in, follow through....and then chase down my rebound when I miss ha =) A motion I've repeated thousands of times in my life.

Here's my point. There is a time to work and be adults. But there is a time for relief.

Whether it's crafting with glitter or sunk in the couch writing your blog or baking cookies or even if it's sweating in a gym by yourself....

Take the time to be where you are most you.

I was there... I saw you... That makes me feel privileged.
